Belarus, Czech Republic to cooperate in forestry

MINSK, 19 November (BelTA) - Belarus and the Czech Republic will establish a joint working group on cooperation in forestry. Relevant agreements were reached during a visit of the Belarusian delegation headed by First Deputy Forestry Minister Fyodor Lisitsa to the Czech Republic, BelTA learnt from the press service of the Foreign Ministry of Belarus. The delegation included representatives of the Forestry Ministry, top managers of the Vitebsk State Industrial Forestry Association, the Mogilev State Industrial Forestry Association and Bellesexport. Fyodor Lisitsa held talks with the Deputy Minister for Agriculture of the Czech Republic Radek Braum to discuss a wide range of issues related to the activities of the government bodies on the maintenance of forests, control over the forest animal breeding and the implementation of environmental measures. Fyodor Lisitsa and Radek Braum signed an agreement between the Forestry Ministry of Belarus and the Ministry for Agriculture of the Czech Republic on cooperation in forestry,” noted the press service. The parties also agreed to exchange internship courses of specialists in forestry. During the stay in the Czech Republic, the Belarusian delegation visited forestry companies, the forest school and got familiar with advanced technologies in forest growing, and forest animal protection measures. The Belarusian delegation also met with representatives of the business community of the Czech Republic. The Czech companies West-Woods Consulting s.r.o., Moravsky Lesnicky klaster o.s. showed interest in the products made by Bellesexport namely pulp wood, timber, fuel briquettes, fuel granules (pellets) and other goods, stressed the Foreign Ministry.
