The project was implemented within the framework of the state program "Comfortable housing and favorable environment".
- The head of state outlined an important task to create more comfortable living conditions for citizens in rural areas. And one of the directions for its solution is the gasification of small towns , - Minister of Energy Viktor Karankevich noted during the solemn ceremony of launching a new gas pipeline with a total length of 13 kilometers. - Over the past 20 years, the length of gas networks in Belarus has tripled and already exceeds 66,000 kilometers. All 115 cities, 118 district centers, 85 city, workers, resort villages, as well as more than 3.6 thousand rural settlements have been supplied with gas. And this work will continue.
In the Mogilev region, 150 out of 203 agricultural towns, or 73 percent, have already been supplied with gas.
- On a regional scale, the launch of blue fuel in Teterino may be a modest event, but for local residents it is extremely important , - said Anatoly Isachenko, chairman of the regional executive committee . - The villagers receive not just gas, but a more comfortable life, further development. Many issues of housekeeping, even ordinary household moments, will be solved much easier. The work will continue. Huge gratitude to the President, the Government, the Ministry of Energy for the opportunity to supply gas somewhere, power somewhere, reconstruct networks, build new substations so that people can live more comfortably.
Local resident Galina Lepeshkina does not hide her smile:
“Today we really have a holiday. There are many elderly people in our agricultural town, but there are enough young people as well. I have three children and four grandchildren. I believe that thanks to the launch of natural gas, young people will stay with us and will not go anywhere. Teterino will not be erased from the map of the region, we will live and prosper.
In the current five-year period, it is planned to supply gas to about 300 more settlements throughout the country, Viktor Karankevich shared:
- In parallel, work is underway on electrification, and there are already concrete results. Thanks to the adopted incentive measures for the use of electrical energy for heating and hot water supply at the level of the Head of State, ongoing systematic work at the level of the Government, the Ministry of Energy, and local executive bodies, about 666,000 square meters of new electrified housing were commissioned in 2021-2022. Since 2019, at the request of citizens, 71,000 technical specifications have been issued for the use of electrical energy in individual housing stock. There are concrete results in terms of consumption volumes. In 2022, for the purposes of heating and hot water supply, they amounted to 475 million kilowatt hours. Growth to the level of 2021 by 1.7 times. This positive trend continues this year as well.
