Gomel forum gathers young journalists from Belarus, Russia

GOMEL, 15 November (BelTA) – The Belarusian-Russian forum of young journalists, General Outlook on Future, has kicked off in Gomel, BelTA has learnt. The forum has gathered Belarusian and Russian journalists under 31 from every Belarusian region as well as Smolensk, Bryansk oblasts of Russia and Moscow. Besides, partaking in the forum are professional journalists, media experts, political analysts, heads of the mass media outlets. Media representatives of the two states will take part in the Journalism in the 21st Century: Traditions and Novelties thematic debates. Apart from that, representatives of press services as well as the leading Belarusian and Russian media outlets will conduct master classes and theme sessions. Young journalists will be able to get familiar with the works of their colleagues at the exhibition held as part of the meeting. The participants of the forum will see the presentation of Union State projects, including Belarus-Russia Union State, Agrarian Union and TRO TV Channel. An award ceremony will honor professional journalists with the prizes from the Belarusian Union of Journalists. The Debut Award will be presented to gifted reporters, observers, news photographers, radio and TV hosts. The international forum is held with an aim to enhance qualifications of young journalists, develop professional and international communication skills, develop the united media community of Belarus and Russia. The organizers of the event are the Information Ministry of Belarus, the Union State Permanent Committee, the Belarusian Union of Journalists, the Belarusian National Youth Union and the Gomel Oblast Executive Committee under the auspices of the Foreign Ministry of Belarus and the Embassy of Belarus in Russia.
