Inclusive eco-trails and new routes. How Slavgorod district develops the tourism sector

12 July 2023

In the Slavgorod district, new approaches are being developed and implemented in the tourism sector. This was told by the chief specialist on sports and tourism of the Slavgorod district executive committee Lilia Erashenko.

“In the district, the tourism sector is developed and diverse. Guests have the opportunity to visit agro-eco-estates of different themes: three are located in the regional center and six more in the district. Tourists are offered to participate in various master classes, to touch our history, to treat themselves to dishes of the national Belarusian cuisine, - she said. - In addition, our area is rich in interesting sights. The most famous of them is Golubaya Krinitsa, a visit to which is included in almost every route.”

The Slavgorod district is famous for its gastronomic tourism - in addition to agro-eco-farms offering various national dishes, the popularity of Slavgorod cheese makers has gone far beyond the district and even the region. Another product loved by many is homemade honey from local residents.

For the convenience of tourists, a regional tourist cluster "To the Living Origins" operates in the area. It united agro-eco-estates, a museum both in Slavgorod and the Lesnaya agorodok, Golubaya Krinitsa and a local hotel. As Lilia Erashenko said, all these entities work in the same way to make the guests of the area feel comfortable and interested.

This year, Slavgorod is implementing the project “Preservation of the Garden and Park Complex on Zamkova Gora” and creating conditions for people with disabilities. Work has already begun. It is planned to carry out landscaping of the territory, as well as to equip a new ecological trail. “It is important for us that all guests feel comfortable. The new eco-trail will include elements of inclusive tourism so that people with disabilities, including people in wheelchairs, can get acquainted with the beauties and history of the city,” Lilia Erashenko added.

Guests of the Slavgorod region are residents of Mogilev, Gomel and Vitebsk regions. “Of course, there are many guests from our region and nearby. In general, every year families from all over the country come to us. It's great, because Belarusians get acquainted with the beauties of their land, learn about its rich history, - the chief specialist emphasized. - Many guests from the Russian Federation come to us every year. And this year is no exception."
