Industrial optimism index on the rise in Belarus

The industrial optimism index is growing. The Belarusian Economy Ministry made the conclusion after studying results of a market situation survey conducted by the ministry's Economy Research Institute last month, BelTA has learned.

According to the survey, positive attitudes among heads of Belarusian industrial enterprises are on the rise: the industrial optimism index has been growing continuously for half a year. An increase in workload of the Belarusian enterprises, the output of industrial goods, and demand for the goods has been registered as well.

The employment rate is on the rise: 91% of those polled said the number of their workers has stayed the same or has increased.

Most of the polled executives (89%) believe that the overall economic state of affairs at the enterprises will get better soon or will not worsen. Only one in ten of them made negative forecasts.

Financial projects for May 2023 are also optimistic: 83% of the executives believe that profits of their enterprises will rise or will not go down.
