Lukashenko orders to launch at least one investment project in each district in 2022

14 May 2022

At least one investment project should be implemented in each district of the country, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko said as he announced new personnel decisions, BelTA has learned.

“We agreed that during this year each of the chairpersons [of district executive committees] will implement some investment project that will create new jobs. If someone has not yet dealt with agricultural machinery, they should come to grips with this issue. If someone has not set up mobile mechanized brigades, they should do it. Every leader of the district administration should have 100-120 construction workers at hand. In general, we need one good project per year. It can be big or small, the main thing is that people see progress and get jobs,” the Belarusian leader emphasized.

Poorly performing agricultural enterprises should be on the radar of district administrations, the head of state is convinced. “There are two (rarely three) struggling agricultural enterprises in every district. You are in charge of them. Take care of them,” the president set the task. At the same time, stable and well-performing enterprises do not need such close attention from local authorities, Aleksandr Lukashenko believes. According to him, such agricultural enterprises should be an example for young specialists of how to work and what to strive for. “You should have at least one impeccable agricultural company that can show young specialists where we are heading to,” he said.

In addition, the president noted that agricultural towns and villages should be kept neat and tidy.
