30 January 2023

In the Mogilev region, the results of the trade union patriotic marathon "Roads of the native land" were summed up. This was told by the chairman of the Mogilev regional organization of the Belarusian trade union of workers of local industry and public utilities Pavel Zhuikov .

“The patriotic marathon was announced last year and timed to coincide with the Year of Historical Memory,” said Pavel Zhuikov. - During its holding, the primary trade union organizations went on tourist excursions around Belarus, during which they visited iconic objects of historical and cultural heritage. The initiative is aimed at introducing employees of enterprises to the rich history of our country, the formation of a careful and respectful attitude to the national culture. During such trips, places of military prowess and glory were also visited. The participants paid tribute to the memory and respect for the heroic past of our people, bowed their heads at the obelisks and memorials, testifying to the courage and resilience of our ancestors.”

According to Pavel Zhuikov, the patriotic marathon found a lively response in labor collectives. More than 2 thousand people took part in it. Tourist and excursion routes passed all over the country. After returning from trips, marathon participants shared their impressions with colleagues. “The marathon has become one of the forms of tourism and local history work among our members of the trade union, which, of course, will be continued this year,” the chairman of the regional organization of the branch trade union emphasized. “In order to preserve our value and civilizational guidelines, it is necessary that as many residents of the country as possible turn to the origins of Belarusian statehood, national history and culture.”
