The first salary and a significant contribution to the development of the city or even the country - the working semester for young people is in full swing. Students waited the whole academic year to meet friends again and feel the romance of student teams. Someone became a fighter for the first time, and someone has been participating in the movement for several years. Someone works in Mogilev, and someone went to another country.
Career at Zenith
Soldiers of the Helios student brigade will no longer be able to ride in elevators like ordinary passengers. Now, willy-nilly, they will examine the panels, evaluate the work of photo barriers and think: “What if this is mine?” A dozen and a half students of the Belarusian-Russian University are now working at OAO Zenit, which is part of the Mogilevliftmash holding. Due to the growing demand for elevators, additional hands were needed. Timofei Zhuk , a student of the Automotive Faculty , is engaged in the painstaking work of assembling the headlight assembly, and Ivan Gavrusev and Artem Bobrovich , who graduated from the first year with a degree in process engineering, are already considering this plant as a future place of work.
“Personally, I like that the plant is interested in new exclusive products,” Artem explains . “We are future engineers and technologists. Now we are packing optical photo barriers - this is such a device in an elevator to block the closing of doors if there is an object in the opening. When they were taken on a tour of the plant, they showed a new development of the enterprise - a system for disinfecting the elevator cabin with ultraviolet light. I would like to work in a company that is always moving forward!
“Work is really in full swing in the shops, because the plan for the production of elevators has grown to 1200-1300 pieces per month,” Ivan continues . “As a result, wages have gone up. In addition, there is good support for young professionals.
As explained at Zenith, about 40% of the employees are young people, and every year about two dozen young specialists get a job here - the plant management concludes targeted contracts, sends requests for graduates to universities.
From the audience to the construction site
Twenty pairs of strong hands, backpacks, a guitar and a desire not to drop the high bar of the university - with such luggage, two dozen student brigade students from the Belarusian-Russian University went to Russia, to the city of Voronezh. Detachment "Titan" was assigned a responsible task - to work on the construction of a mega-school.
The commander of the detachment, Ivan Ivashkov, is a fourth-year student at BRU as a road construction engineer.
– I have been in the student team movement for three years already: in 2021 I participated in the construction of a nuclear power plant in Ostrovets, in 2022 I went to the Chayandinskoye oil and gas condensate field in Yakutia, where for 45 days, together with other guys, I was engaged in landscaping. This year, our team will have to work for two months on the construction of a mega-school in Voronezh for 2.8 thousand students,” he says. – When you are involved in such significant and large-scale construction projects, it always causes a feeling of pride.
Of course, the guys go not only to work and earn extra money, but also to get unforgettable emotions and impressions.
- We spend a lot of time with the guys, we live as one big and friendly family. An important point is communication with peers from other countries and cities. Five construction teams are working in Voronezh - from Tambov, Ryazan, Voronezh, Moscow.
Another construction team, Burevestnik, formed from BRU students, is working on the construction of a new building for the Mogilev city emergency hospital. Despite the fact that they are studying to be mechatronics and software engineers, they apply the solution and bring 15-kilogram gas silicate blocks quite deftly! Thanks to the youth, the work of builders is going faster.
- A man should be able to work with his hands, these skills will always come in handy, - says Andrey Shilov , a fighter of the detachment , who replaced a computer mouse with a trowel. - And we will have time to relax: we will work, earn money and rest! Besides, the company is good. Although the master evaluates the contribution of everyone, we are doing a common thing, and at a very important facility.
Squad in white coats
For a student of the Mogilev State Medical College, Elena Markova, the student team at the Mogilev Hospital No. 1 is a stepping stone in professional growth. Next year, the girl will receive a diploma of an obstetrician, and plans to go to a medical university. Even if she fails to enter, Elena will boldly go to work in her specialty. She has already tried herself in business and realized that helping people is her calling.
- Many of us signed up for the student brigade, only in the Mogilev Hospital No. 1, seven more with me. I was assigned to the cardiology department. There are many elderly people among the patients, attention is very important for them. A kind word heals - this is about the work of a nurse.
Her colleague Maria Prosentsova works in the therapeutic department. Distribute pills to the wards, measure pressure, temperature or saturation - the duties of the student team in white coats are the same as those of nurses with experience.
– Here you become a psychologist, because there are many patients, you need to find a common language with everyone. From the first year we have been doing practice in hospitals, and now we have a full-time job and a large list of responsibilities.
The girls note the high level of medical care in healthcare institutions - a new infectious disease building has recently been built near the Mogilev Hospital No. 1, and a multifunctional building of the Mogilev City Emergency Hospital is being built near the medical college.
Youth in combat
According to Sergey Chichov , the chief specialist of the Department of Ideological Work and Youth Affairs of the Mogilev City Executive Committee, as of mid-July, 1370 people have already been employed in 123 student construction, pedagogical, environmental, service, medical and production teams in Mogilev.
Field student teams "Atlant 2023", "Traktorostroitel", "Avtozavodets" work at enterprises throughout Belarus. The address of the republican youth labor project "City of Youth" is the Belarusian nuclear power plant. There are two student teams operating outside the republic: in a children's camp in Tuapse and at construction sites in Voronezh.
By the way, in order to earn extra money in the summer, it is not at all necessary to wait for the 18th birthday - 366 teenagers work in the student teams of Mogilev, including those who are on preventive records in the inspection for minors.
Student team members can claim a salary of five hundred to a thousand rubles, or even more. It all depends on the development and complexity of the object. The experience will remain invaluable. After all, it’s not bad at all for a future programmer to be able to build or a mathematician to weed the beds. And also new acquaintances. After work, young people begin a different life: sports, walks and songs with a guitar. And on the eve of the Day of the Belarusian student teams (August 1), it is planned to hold a regional festival of creativity of student teams “Youth in combat”. And, probably, only for the sake of this atmosphere they return there again and again.
