RECTOR OF KULESHOV MOSCOW STATE UNIVERSITY: IT IS IMPORTANT FOR YOUNG PEOPLE TO UNDERSTAND THE SIGNIFICANCE OF ANY ELECTION CAMPAIGN IN THE COUNTRY

11 November 2023

It is important for young people to understand the significance of any election campaign in the country. The rector of the Mogilev State University named after A.A. Kuleshov Denis Duk shared this opinion with journalists at a meeting of the Central Election Commission in Mogilev.

“Legal education is a very multifaceted concept,” noted Denis Duk. “That is why we are trying to attract young people, who should be the conductor of our ideas in their environment, so that each election campaign, which attracts a large number of first-time voters, takes place at a good organizational level. It is also important for our youth to understand the significance of any election campaign in the country.”

According to Denis Duka, the legal culture of Belarusians is at a high level. This accumulated experience must be passed on to young people, who in turn have a demand for it. “This demand is formalized in the Youth Council under the Central Election Commission, as well as among our student and school youth,” he emphasized. “It’s not without reason that the Ministry of Education pays increased attention to all categories of students, from kindergarten to college students.”

“Selective culture in kindergarten establishes an understanding of leadership qualities that are based on universal human values,” explained Denis Duk. - This is the basic level from which patriotism and love for the Motherland begins. This is also the first acquaintance with Belarusian symbols - the flag, coat of arms and anthem of the country, and the meanings embedded in them. Further along the chain, the meaning of these symbols is revealed in school, and legal culture is understood from a historical perspective. And now, being already students, young people are consolidating this at a scientific level.”
