“Very soon our entire country will celebrate National Unity Day,” noted Natalya Dashkova, head of the department of ideological work of the main department of ideological work and youth affairs of the Mogilev regional executive committee . - September 17 has rightfully become a symbol of unity, patriotism and fortitude of the Belarusian people. This is a fairly new holiday in the galaxy of all public holidays. Its main message lies in the phrase: when we are united, we are strong.”

The Mogilev region is preparing to celebrate September 17 with significant events that started a week before this date. Thus, in Mogilev on the 8th, the regional stage of the republican action “Symbol of Unity” took place under the auspices of the public association “Patriots of Belarus”. During the initiative, all districts of the region donated their heraldic symbols for their subsequent installation on the newly created Unity Alley in Minsk. On September 8, the socio-political marathon “17 Facets of Unity” was also launched, which takes place under the auspices of the RPO “Belaya Rus”. It was hosted by Gorki, and then it will be held in Bykhov and Shklov. As part of the action, dialogue platforms and round tables are held, opinion leaders - representatives of the deputy corps, the Belarusian Republican Youth Union, and public organizations - speak.

A number of regional events are planned on the eve of National Unity Day. From September 12, the Regional Museum of Local Lore named after E.R. Kuleshov Moscow State University will host an international youth dialogue online platform with the participation of representatives from Moscow, St. Petersburg and Astana. On the same day, a flash mob “We are together!” will take place on Unity Square. On September 17, a regional marathon “The future of Belarus is in the unity of the people!” is planned in the region’s libraries, as well as a sports and cultural event with a concert program “Unity Run”. On the same day, the regional creativity center will host a dialogue platform “Time to act!

The library network will offer residents of the region events of the Week of National Unity “Belarus is us!”, the program of which will include a series of patriotic lessons, a civic-patriotic marathon, a patriotic hour and an erudite quiz. “Also on the eve of the holiday, issues of perpetuating the memory of those who died defending the Fatherland, preserving the memory of the victims of the Great Patriotic War will be discussed,” said Natalya Dashkova. - On September 13, an action will be held at the Belarusian-Russian University, in which leading republican speakers will take part. This will be a relevant platform for discussing pressing issues, including geopolitical ones. And, of course, one of the most important will be the regional gala event with the participation of the Chairman of the Mogilev Regional Executive Committee Anatoly Isachenko on September 15 at the regional Palace of Culture.”

Events for National Unity Day will be held throughout the region. For example, on September 15, Narodnogo Unity Street will be opened in Bobruisk, a youth flash mob “For a United Belarus!” will take place in Bykhov, and a bicycle ride through places of glory “Strength in Unity” will take place in Glusk on September 16. All cities will host folk festivals, various auto, motorcycle and bicycle races, sports festivals, concerts and themed venues. Also on this day, the work of shopping malls will be organized everywhere. “All events will be bright and large-scale, everyone is invited to participate in them,” concluded Natalya Dashkova.
