Belarus to raise minimum wage on 1 January 2025

13 December 2024

Belarus to raise minimum wage on 1 January 2025

The minimum wage will increase in Belarus to equal Br726 as from 1 January 2025. The corresponding resolution was signed by Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko, BelTA learned from the press service of the government.

The current minimum wage established on 1 January 2024 is Br626.

According to the press service of the Labor and Social Security Ministry, the minimum wage will be increased by Br100, or almost 16% over January 2024.

The ministry recalled that the minimum wage is the lowest remuneration that employers can legally pay their employees. This social standard is applied in organizations regardless of the form of ownership or type of economic activity, including owners' associations and individual entrepreneurs, in respect of employees who have concluded employment contracts.

The minimum wage is guaranteed to all employees and is applied taking into account the working hours worked. At the same time, a collective contract (agreement) may establish a higher monthly minimum wage.
