Contracts worth $80m signed at Forum of Regions of Belarus and Uzbekistan

More than 20 contracts and agreements worth $80 million were concluded at the 2nd Forum of Regions of Belarus and Uzbekistan in Tashkent, BelTA has learned.

According to Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Uzbekistan Leonid Marinich, the most relevant avenues of cooperation for Uzbekistan are education, medicine and industrial cooperation. Cooperation in agriculture has just started gaining momentum.

“We are discussing industrial cooperation, joint ventures and joint projects in all economic sectors. Uzbekistan’s consumers like our food products. We have built cooperation in manufacturing, in the textile field,” Leonid Marinich said.

The two countries are also expanding cooperation in education. Five years ago 14 citizens of Uzbekistan studied in Belarus, while now 5,000 students study at joint faculties.Contracts worth $80m signed at Forum of Regions of Belarus and Uzbekistan
