Lukashenko holds meeting to discuss results of Tokyo Olympics

Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko held a working meeting with President of the National Olympic Committee Viktor Lukashenko on 31 August, BelTA has learned.

Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko held a working meeting with President of the National Olympic Committee Viktor Lukashenko on 31 August, BelTA has learned.

The meeting focused on the performance of Team Belarus at the Tokyo Olympic Games. The head of state emphasized the need to make conclusions and determine future goals, to decide to arrange the work of the sports industry to ensure maximum efficiency. Apart from the NOC, the sports minister and the vice premier are also in charge of that.

Aleksandr Lukashenko deemed it necessary to select and support promising athletes starting from the very young age. Without comprehensive efforts in this field there will be no excellent results, the president stressed.
