Belarus to keep improving consumer protection in financial services in 2023

There are plans to keep improving the system of consumer protection in financial services in 2023, Chairman of the Board of the National Bank of the Republic of Belarus Pavel Kallaur said as he spoke at a joint meeting of the House of Representatives and the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus on 19 April, BelTA has learned.

“In 2023, the system of consumer protection in financial services will continue to improve, including through laws. Much attention will be paid to scaling up good practices in financial services provision as well as to streamlining the procedure for handling consumer complaints,” Pavel Kallaur said.

There are plans to improve communication in the field of information security between the National Bank, banks and government agencies. “I believe that the successful implementation of all the plans by the National Bank will help create conditions conducive to sustainable improvement of living standards and the quality of life,” the chairman of the Board noted.
