Legislation
The legislation of the Republic of Belarus is based on European principles, guarantees all the rights of the investor, allows the application of British, Swiss, Italian and any other law and arbitration.
It provides for all modern forms of investment: from the creation of foreign, mixed enterprises to concession agreements.
In 2014, the progressive investment law, developed jointly with the International Finance Corporation, entered into force, which provides for the improvement of the basic investment legislation based on international experience, ensures the simplicity and transparency of the established norms and concepts, and provides fundamental guarantees of protection to investors.
Belarus is a party to the Convention on the Settlement of Investment Disputes between States and Natural and Legal Persons of Other States of 18 March 1965.
Belarus ' membership in the Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency (MIGA) creates conditions that meet international standards for insuring the risks of foreign investors, and confirms the country's readiness to comply with generally accepted norms and standards of international economic cooperation.
